Atacama: Downtown San Pedro

We had our guide drop us off in the downtown on our way home.  We had been so busy all week, we hadn't had time to see the actual town of San Pedro de Atacama!
Little shops lined the streets and we were able to see the artisans at work.

Don't worry.  There are plenty of perros here too...but most of these street dogs seemed pretty well cared for.

 Love their sweet faces
And adore his even more!

The town was way bigger than I expected!  The shops and little restaurants just kept going!

The natives of San Pedro would put these triangles in the clay walls to summon the good spirits of the MANY volcanoes that surround this little town.

We grabbed a bite to eat and some fresh squeezed juice that was good-- but we think the lady went out and picked all of the fruit herself, because it took so long for it to arrive-- and then we slowly made our way back to our hotel.
