Buenos Aires Here We Come!

Thanks to the Whitt family and Sandra, we were able to sneak away for a couple of days and have a mega double date.  It began at the Plaza Hotel (thanks Debra for the discount!) in downtown Buenos Aires.  What a classy place and a perfect location.  We kept warning the first-time-to-South-America-Robins that you can't count on anything to go the way you expect it to down here.  But what a fantastic start!!
Our first day there, we wanted to really get to know the city.  So we put our running shoes on, took off all of our watches and jewelry (as was strongly suggested to us), and hit the pavement for a little exploring.
YUM

Here we are in the process of crossing the widest street in the world...
 Still crossing...

We got tickets for a city bus tour and it was a great way to see the city.  We could hop off and on whenever we felt like it.
The Pink House  (Argentina's White House)

We got off in a little barrio called La Boca.  Soooo much character to see and even more enjoyable to walk around!

We covered all of our bases-- nativities, leather purses, a little art, and even some...

free tango shows!

There were shows outisde of every restaurant!

Getting some treats for his coworkers.

Definite highlight in the middle of the city.
We ended up having to cut our tour a little short because we had reservations to catch.  You can't go to Buenos Aires and not see a Tango show!  So we rushed back to our hotel, changed, and were right back out the door again.

We were all exhausted, but this was totally worth it.  I have never seen feet move that fast before!

What an amazing first day in B.A.!  Don't get too relaxed, we still have plenty to do :)

So much fun! I have to admit that I'm a little jealous looking at those pictures. :)
