THE CAKE

After our Christmas tree hunt, we all convened back to Mom and Dad's house for Luke's 1st birthday dinner and cake.  The funniest part about that was, they weren't even home!  Mom and Dad went to Hawaii for a little getaway.  But seeing as we had Patterson's in San Fran, Hansen's in Fremont, and Berryhill's in Pleasanton, we figured Saratoga was still the best meeting spot coming from our tree hunt in the Santa Cruz mountains.  We did our best not to mess things up too much...who was able to break in, anyway??
 The first taste
 It's a winner

At one point, he even lay his head down into the cake!  It was A LOT of effort to do what he did!
Now check this out.  I only put these in because, look at Kate.
Did she just do what I think she did???
YES!  She took a swipe at some chocolate frosting on Luke's head and took a taste.  Unbelievable!!Guess it was time to cut some for the rest of us.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, LUKEY!  We love you more than you'll ever know.

It's cool to think that you all still put something together like that without your folks around.

I'll bet they loved that you did that!
