Rapa Nui Day 4: The Beach!!!

Our tour was called off when we drove up to the beach and couldn't even see it, the rain and winds were so bad.  We all wanted to go home.  We got back to our hotel and found that the storm was picking up!  We hurried and took hot showers and thank goodness, because an hour after we got home, the storm was so bad that the water stopped working in our hotel--completely.  We put on a movie and snuggled in, and then ended up calling a taxi a little later so we could get dinner.  We ended up at La Kaleta right on the wharf.  It was delish!!  And would have been beautiful on a nice day.  But we were one of 2 groups in the restaurant that night and the storm got so bad that credit cards couldn't be used because the systems had all shut down!!!
We prayed for sunshine that night as we crawled in bed, and the next morning, we were blessed with it!

Time to hit the only beach in Rapa Nui.  We needed a day to relax :)
We hopped in the taxi and got to see this as drew near to the white sand:
What a drastic change in only a few short hours!
Thank heavens!
After capturing it all, the kids couldn't wait any longer.
 They hit the water...
Got cozy on the warm sand...
Did a little exploring...

 And built a few castles.

It was a PERFECT way to end our trip to the middle of no where.

We said goodbye to this mysterious place and headed home...
The next day was Christmas Eve after all and there were a few things to do...
