Day 1: Hansen Fam Arrives & The Eiffel Tower

We rushed back to our hotel to await the Hansen's arrival.  And let me tell you, it was JOYOUS.  Just a little glimpse into what heaven is going to be like.  They got a taste of tiny European lifts, got situated in their hotel rooms, and 30 minutes later were were walking through Paris on our way to the Eiffel Tower...

After Ben and Matt squeezed in with 2 suitcases, everyone else decided to take the stairs ;)

At least they got to see the outside of the Louvre...

At this point on the Pont des Arts (the pedestrian lock bridge that crosses the river Seine), as we stopped to take a photo, I was overcome with what an amazing feeling of gratitude that we can hop on planes and trains and meet the ones we love anywhere in the world.  We had been counting down the months, weeks and days for this trip and despite the crazy way it began, nothing would keep us from enjoying being together.

We walked and talked and made our way through the streets of Paris just in time to see the Eiffel Tower as the sun was setting and the lights were turning on.

Oh so many years ago, Kate and Gracie devised a plan that one day they would climb the Eiffel Tower together.  None of us ever thought it would be so soon!

Mesmerized by the twinkling lights that turned on while we were up on top.

This next one is my all time favorite.  After seeing what we were all doing, we tried a Berryhill family photo and told Mack what to do... I think he nailed it.

Pure bliss being together

There is a huge benefit of traveling with others... lots of family photos!
This one could make the top of our favorites list.

By now, everyone was STARVING.  We had to find something to eat and fast.  Most places were too small to take a party of 11!  But thankfully we found this Italian place and we could all even sit together!

Definitely a good omen for things to come!

Heading back to the hotel.  Everyone would hopefully sleep VERY WELL tonight.
