After a wonderfully relaxing Christmas day, we continued the celebrating, by heading over to the Whitt's for Christmas dinner.
It was delish! Then we were informed that we'd be participating in the traditional Pearson Bag Game (I can't remember the exact name. It definitely had a better ring to it than the "Bag Game")
Everyone takes a turn picking the bag up with their mouths--NO HANDS, elbows, knees to help...
Once everyone has made it through one round, you cut off a top portion of the bag and you go around again, until there is only one person left. Total surprise, Joe and Karen's sister-in-law were the last two in the game!!! I had no idea Joe was so flexible!!! Classic.
Loved being with them and their family so much, that we all decided to get together for New Years Eve too :) Karen came up with the greatest idea. The best part about New Years is the countdown, right? Soooooo........ why not choose a different country every hour and have a handful of countdowns and then celebrate according to that country! We started off with Israel in a desert tent and hummus and pita appetizers...
We even did our countdown in Hebrew!
Then after our Italian countdown, we feasted on Spaghetti...
Then a British countdown for high tea and dessert...
Followed up with our final countdown in the middle of Oceania...
Where it was time to get wet...
The kids thought we were crazy for jumping into the pool in the middle of the night...which made them all the more excited (Pools here in Chile are NOT heated by the way).
What a way to bring in 2014.
Thank you for making it so memorable!
